My Beautiful Place

Far beyond the edge of the world is my beautiful place....
If you go there you will see very cool stuff.

As I woke up I could feel the breeze of the flowing cold wind.
I could see the sun relaxing in the air with his glasses on reading a book about the sun. There were tree branches made out of coco and also
the leaves were made out liquorice too.

I could hear sausages cooking on the BBQ. The sausages were mixed with sauce and mustard that tasted like raspberry and vanilla. As I got off the ground I ran quickly to the sea as I dived in like a dolphin jumping out of the sea and diving back in. The sea tasted like chocolate mixed with orange chocolate chip. It tasted delicious.

I sprinted out of the sea, when suddenly I tripped on a rock and fell on the sand with my mouth wide open. I closed my mouth with a little bit of sand in it. The sand tasted like pineapple. I thought it was a miracle. I was covered all over with sand as jumped back in to the air with joy.

I saw a bed tied onto the trees so I quickly ran to it. The bed felt very soft. It felt soft like a small tissue. I fell to sleep very quickly with a very big smile on my face. I thought I had a great time. Have you guessed where my beautiful place is...?

Ireland Information Report

I have been learning about Ireland culture. Did you know that a four leaf clover is a good thing to Ireland and it is only found in Ireland? If you find a four leaf clover in Ireland it is good luck.

Did you know that in Ireland they eat Irish stew, potatoes, soda bread and even black
pudding?

Brian O’Driscoll is the captain of the Ireland
Rugby union team for the Rugby World Cup. He has tried his best to be the captain of the Ireland team. Sorcha Lusack is a very good actor in cool Irish movies. He always stands up for himself and he’s never shy.

Did you know that in Ireland for fun they have
a cool pancake festival and sometimes they go hiking on their beautiful snowy mountains.

I have discovered that Vikings discovered the capital city of Ireland which is Dublin.

Information Report About Tuatara

Tuataras

I have been learning about tuataras and I have found out that tuataras were alive for 100
years even when the dinosaurs were alive.

Are you aware that tuataras are only found in
New Zealand but did you know that most are only found in the North Island.

Tuataras eat worms, beetles, moths, weta, baby chicks and even eat their own baby tuataras.

I have discovered that tuataras have very huge pupils. They have very strong back legs
and very sharp claws their skin is soft and they have a scaly back.

Did you know that Tuataras can live up to 100 million years? Wow!

Using Google Maps

This map is showing all the stadiums where games are being played in the Rugby World Cup. I had to search for each stadium one by one and that took very long time. This helped me by using Google maps so whenever my teacher asks me to look for a new place I can use Google maps straight away to find it.

Describing Piri Weepu

It was windy as I looked out from the stadium to see Piri Weepu...leading the haka proudly and strongly with the number nine on his back. His face looked fierce like a tekoteko. As they finished their haka the game started. The whistle rang loudly as a lion and Piri Weepu kicked off. Piri Weepu was zooming across the field like a race car zooming through the track to the finish.

Piri Weepu tackled the person in front him as the crowd shouted “Go Piri Weepu!” The coaches said that he was born to play rugby. Piri Weepu was sprinting across the field as the other team tackled him but he broke out of the tackle like a bulldozer breaking through a wall. Piri Weepu passed the ball to his team mate as Piri ran to the try line.

His team mate kicked the ball across the field as Piri Weepu
bounced in the air as tall as a giant. He caught the ball and evaded back on the ground with a big shake like an earthquake. Piri Weepu sprinted to the try line. He made a humongous dive for the try and he landed on the ground and he got a try. The crowd went wild as a rainbow raised on top of Piri Weepu.

Term 3 Writing goals

My current level in Writing is:3B

Things I think I do well in Writing are: describing disasters and putting full stops and capital letters in my work.

My Writing goals for next term are to: correct my spelling in my stories and use similes.

I can achieve these goals by:staying focused and don’t be distracted by other people. I can use a dictionary or ask friends for help. I could use the online dictionary.

My family can help me achieve these goals by:helping me practice my spelling for homework and telling me to concentrate.

today we did some buddy writing with Rm7.
we helped them to re-craft their writing sample .
this is my buddy ajani. I hope we get to do this
again it was fun.

On t.v 1 there was a tsunami in Japan.I think the tsunami was humongous, enormous and there was a lot of confusion going on in Japan.

We see dust, big waves were crashing into Japan.

we can hear people screaming,upset,worried,
crying, scared, sad, confused.terrified, frightened and panicking.you could hear people yelling for
help there were crushed objects pets searching for their owners and children crying and cars and
houses swept away in the sea.

people feel upset, glum scared and confused also people are sad and afraid.

my writing sample

Tsunami Disaster

In Japan in the 18th of March, 2011, there was a tsunami that crashed into Japan. It was like a huge giant running after it’s toy but it wasn’t. The tsunami was crashing everywhere like someone who failed there driving test but it was more worse because it was charging through the buildings like it was the boxing gloves of a kick boxer.

I could hear the sound of sadness and people crying and also I could smell fear all around me like a huge crowd crying like Michael Jackson died.

I could see houses collapsing together and buildings floating in the sea. I
felt so sad for the people whose houses got destroyed in the disaster.
Different countries are trying to raise money and have raised $4000 dollars so everybody in Japan could rebuild and be happy again.

Layers of the Earth

WALT-make a model of the layers of the earth out of
play-dough.

So that when we learn about natural disasters we can use our knowledge of the layers to understand them better and to help us in topic and science and learn about the earth around us.

The layer that is called crust or tectonic plates is the thick and strong green around the sea that floats around in the earth and it contains the continents plus the seas. Are you aware it’s thickness is 15-17km?

The second layer of my model is called the mantle and the other the lower mantle. The deference between the upper mantle is 400km thick and the lower mantle is 2300 thick.

The third layer is the outer core the outer core is the colour red. It’s thickness is 2300km and it is liquid. It includes nickle and also sulphur.

The last layer is the inner core the inner core is the most important layer out of all the other layers is the colour yellow. It is 1220km thick and it is solid iron nickel. The temperature is 6640 degrees Celsius!
